Golf Cart Rental Etiquette and Rules

Safety First

  1. Speed: Always drive golf carts at a safe speed, especially in crowded areas.
  2. Seat Belts: If the golf cart is equipped with seat belts, use them at all times.
  3. Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum capacity of the golf cart. Typically, a golf cart can seat 2-4 passengers. All of our golf carts have a seating capacity of 4 passengers.
  4. Children: Never allow children to drive the golf cart unless they meet age and licensing requirements. In Florida, the child must either have a learner’s permit or a driver’s license to drive a golf cart in Florida legally. Children should always be seated while the cart is moving. Young children should be seated in between adults when possible.
  5. Avoid Distractions: Do not use mobile devices or engage in activities that could be distracting while driving. Each golf cart has a phone holder to drive around without distraction comfortably.

Respect Others

  1. Pedestrians: Always give the right of way to pedestrians. Slow down or stop when necessary.
  2. Noise: Keep noise levels down, especially during early morning or late evening hours. Avoid honking unless it’s necessary for safety reasons.
  3. Parking: Park in designated areas only. Do not block pathways, roads, or entrances.

Care for the Golf Cart

  1. Terrain: Stick to designated pathways or roads. Avoid rough terrains that might damage the golf cart.
  2. Cleanliness: Return the golf cart in the same condition as when you rented it. Remove any trash and belongings.
  3. No Modifications: Do not alter or modify the golf cart in any way without permission. If you have any helpful suggestions for what we could do to improve the golf carts, please let us know.
  4. Report Damages: Immediately report any damages or malfunctions to the rental company. We are happy to make repairs or switch out golf carts so you do not have any issues.

Additional Considerations

  1. Alcohol and Drugs: Never operate a golf cart under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  2. Nighttime Driving: If driving at night, use headlights and be extra cautious. Some golf carts might not be equipped for nighttime use. Please let us know if you have any questions about nighttime driving.
  3. Weather Conditions: Avoid using the golf cart during severe weather conditions like heavy rain, thunderstorms, or high winds, which might pose safety risks.

Specific Locations

  1. Private Property: Do not drive onto private property without permission.
  2. Public Roads: Unless the golf cart is street-legal and you abide by local laws, avoid driving on public roads. Street-legal golf carts can only drive on streets with speed limits of 30 mph or less. Golf carts are allowed to cross roads with 45 mph speed limits or less legally, but you cannot travel on them.
  3. Environmental Care: If driving near natural habitats or on trails, be mindful of the environment. Avoid areas that might be sensitive or protected.

Ending the Rental

  1. Return on Time: Always return the golf cart at the agreed-upon time.
  2. Keys: If the golf cart uses a key, return it to the appropriate place or person.
